Acknowledging Artistry (2017)
Acknowledging Artistry || Intro
When I was younger, I thought an artist was only someone who used supplies found in the art room; however, as I got older, my view of an artist expanded. An artist is indeed someone who creates in an art room but it is not limited to that. I believe everyone is an artist in his or her own way. I hope this series will help you acknowledge the artistry that is in both those around you (as well as yourself).
The following short documentary styled videos are listed from the most recent to the oldest.
Acknowledging Artistry || Regina Mandell: Potter
Regina Mandell is the potter behind Forged and Found Pottery. She is currently based in Athens, GA.
When your friend tells you her friend is building a tiny house, pause the conversation and figure out how to film her friend as soon as possible. I mean, how many people can say they know someone building his own tiny house?
Acknowledging Artistry || Emmi Harding: Painter and Aspiring Tattoo Artist
I find myself consistently in awe of very few artists; Emmi is one of them. Everyone that encounters her knows she has been given a gift. I've wanted to film her for several years and finally did!
Acknowledging Artistry || Matthew Smock: Musician
I've known Matthew since kindergarten but didn't know he was a musician until high school! I would love for you to listen to why he loves playing and singing!
Joey and I became YouTube friends back in high school. I didn't know if we'd ever meet because she lived in Hong Kong and I [obviously] did not. However, I got to meet her with one of my closest friends, Lawson! I couldn't have asked for a better time. I'd love for you to listen to her talk about her love for documentary filmmaking. #AcknowledgingArtistry
Acknowledging Artistry || Diego Galvao: Photographer
Though I had only met Diego minutes before I filmed him, I drove away excited to see what is in store for him. I added him to my *very* short list of favorite photographers. I'd love for you to listen to him share why he loves taking photos! #AcknowledgingArtistry
Acknowledging Artistry || McGee Nall: Freelance Writer and Journalist
I met McGee late 2015 but really befriended her last spring (thank you Delight). There are few people who listen with an intentionality to retain; she’s one of them. I’d love for you to hear about her love for words. #AcknowledgingArtistry
Acknowledging Artistry || Kellie Jordan Smith: Painter
I’ve known Kellie for a really long time so when I asked if I could film her, she immediately said yes. I’d love for you to listen to her share why she enjoys painting and what she desires to do in the future! #AcknowledgingArtistry
Madeline + Sam || Boone Hall Plantation Wedding
I became friends with Madeline in kindergarten. Little did I know she'd one day ask me to film her wedding. Photography by Adrienne Quinter. You can view the lovely photos here.
Breaking the Shackles (2017)
Breaking the Shackles Coffee Crawl
Breaking the Shackles is a 501c3 non-profit that exists to raise awareness, collect funds, and mobilize students to actively fight modern-day slavery in order to glorify God and share His love with all people. I filmed and edited this video to recap the coffee crawl in fall 2017.

WinShape Camps for Brazil (2016)

Videos were edited with Final Cut Pro X. I also photographed campers and edited the photos with Adobe Photoshop.
